Explain This To Me

1) Why are people so proud about being sarcastic? Why do people say they are sarcastic when they're just unfunny? Am I missing something? I mean, like, is it a new level of sarcasm?

New-age sarcasm?

2) Why is it so important to BE THE FIRST PERSON WHO LIKED SOMETHING BEFORE IT BECAME POPULAR? Do First People win cash? Coz I totally loved the internet way before everyone I know did. I can haz cash?

3) What's the point of hating something ONLY because everyone likes it? For no other reason but that. Why?

"Oh, I hate The Hunger Games."
"Why? Did you not like the story?"
"I just hate that everyone's so into it as if it's WOW."
"So you didn't like the story?"
"No, it's not that. The story is fine. I just hate that everyone is all over it."
"AH, YES. THAT MAKES PERFECT SENSE."

(This is an example of a conversation that has never happened.)

4) Why do "peace-lovers" (people who say they're for peace, so they want all wars to end) always come up with solutions that involve murdering the "enemies" or the "bad guys"?

5) Why is it that a lot of the "grammar and spelling nazis" on the internet are the ones who keep making grammar and spelling mistakes? Morans.

6) Why do people say "lol" when they really mean "fucker"?

"I didn't go to work yesterday coz I was sick, lol."

Comments

  1. 1. Because sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. It's cheap and easy, like fastfood. Sarcasm is basically the Al-Baik of humor.

    2. Because everybody wants to feel special, and pretty.

    3. Because they are jealous for not being able to like it before it became popular. See #2

    4. Because, George Orwell.

    5. Muphrey's Law

    6. For the same reason people tell you something is "interesting", when they really mean they couldn't possibly care less about it. It's because they don't have the stones to tell it how it is. Word to your mother. For real.

  2. Loved your questions, and loved Menelik's answers!

I had the same thoughts about this topic, and I thought people were sarcastic to cover up their insecurities; when they make fun of other things and others' opinions, they distract people from their lousy life, "or what they think is their lousy lives"!

Thank you for saying everything that was vaguely swimming in my head.

  4. Menelik, haha for this comment, you win money.

Duha, yeah, for sure it's insecurity, but I just wish people would at least use sarcasm properly. Like if someone says something like "You're so ugly that mirrors break when you look at them", that's not sarcastic. That's just unfunny and mean. You know? GRR.

The Barn Owl, hehe well thank you for dropping by!

  5. 1.a friend once told me that when you get to that stage of sarcasm where the other person isnt sure if you are kidding or being serious then you have past sarcasm and transitioned to irony.

2.the world is full of bored souls that are in constant competition over everything and yet nothing.

3.it is only human nature or try and set yourself apart from other even if it means not making sense most of the time.

4.peace and war are two paradoxical notions that cannot be separated per se

5.karma is a bitch and will bite ya in the ass sooner or later thats why

6.these three letters have taken over the minds of people. they use it like commas, fullstops and everything else cuz they just cant think of actual words to type instead.

  6. u.a.c.

    1. That's all well and good, but like I said in the comment above, people should at least use sarcasm the right way = saying something when you mean the opposite! Right?

    2. Amen, sistah!

    3. I don't know if it's so much "setting yourself apart" as it is being a hater. You know?

    4. Yes, and I agree, but don't say you're against violence and murder when the truth is you ARE FOR violence and murder TOWARDS SPECIFIC PEOPLE.

    5. Haha! It's only karma when it "comes back to bite you in the ass". I'm referring to people who have bad grammar and spelling to begin with! They're the most outspoken about this subject, mashAllah. (Morans!!)

    6. LOLs (which means "fuckers) haha!

  7. I do the third one. I don't want to, but I do. It won't go away.

    Can we still be friends?
