#46 ~ Jeddah By Night
This time, I was northbound. (Stark difference when you're southbound.)
Tahlia Street, of course.
Where, save for the covered women, it's like any other street in any other city. To some extent.
Even the cabs.
So I was talking to my brother about the culture of being pulled over by cops here in Jeddah if you're one of the shabab. Here's an overview of that process.
1. You catch a glimpse of the cop car on your rearview mirror.
2. You hear this: "KUNGK, KUNGK". Kinda sounds like a goose.
3. After you pull over, you might hear a combination of these words: "Ya kalb/gird/7ayawan" before the cop orders you to step out of your vehicle and walk towards his.
It's different for everybody, of course, but this is the general process.
Also, it's very uncommon for cops to stop cars with women in them.
Haha. Kungk, kungk.
So, anyone here have a story about being pulled over by cops?
