Polar F6.
Blog, Heart Rate Monitor.
Heart Rate Monitor, Blog.

This is the Polar F6. I initially didn't want it (or need it) because I'm pretty nerdy when it comes to my workout sessions, and I have this book where I record all of my activity and graph my pattern. (Sue me.)
Some of the info that I log on to my workout book are the following:
* Calories I consumed per day
* Length of my workout
* What kind of workout I did (cardio, strength, etc)
* Calories I burned during that workout
* Little notes to myself such as: "YOU MAJORLY FAILED TODAY" or "I LOVE YOU BASKIN ROBBINS, NO MATTER WHAT"
I knew about the whole heart rate thing, how to get in what zone to achieve what goal for my workout. (If you want to know more about it, click here)
I didn't take it seriously, though, because I am, in fact, quite busy, contrary to popular belief, and I can't spend more than 5 minutes geeking out on my workout log.
Besides, I've always relied on my instincts as to whether or not I'm working myself hard enough (or too hard) when I exercise. My instincts are, of course, as follows:
* I'm still smiling while exercising = I need to blast my heart rate up
* I'm dying and thinking of how to write a death note = I need to stop for 5 seconds
Anyway, it wasn't until a couple friends suggested a heart rate monitor that I felt the urge to buy a new gadget and name it Oolong. (My laptops names are Olaf and Ulaz.) But I digress.
Now that I have one, OMG. It has made my life so much easier. I haven't touched my calculator since, and I now spend a whopping 1 minute to record my training sessions.
The Polar does EVERYTHING for me.
No, I'm serious, EVERYTHING. It records my workouts on a daily or weekly basis, it tells me when I am or am not in the target heart zone, it tells me how many calories I've burned, and it tells me I'm so friggin hot and smexy.
You can also upload your workout sessions to the website after you've created yourself an account, etc etc HERE. Just click the link for more info.
So if you're like me, and you have this obsession with patterns and data and graphs and all that shit, GET A HEART RATE MONITOR.
You can find this in Jeddah at a sports shop called Delta behind the Danube on Tahlia.
I only wish I got the pink one.
I shall now celebrate with a huge tower of Baskin Robbins. Ta!
P.S. It's a bit pricey, and I of course went and got the first one that I could find, so you should probably try and shop around for a bit and see what else is out there.
P.P.S. I have to thank my friends, coz they got this for me for my birthday after much forcing and wheedling and whining. :) <3
