iSold Out.
While I'm not an Apple person, I've always liked the minimalist look. I also like white. So yes, every time I pass by an iZone shop, I always go in and have myself a nice look at all that beautiful [overpriced] 'simplicity'.
I've been tempted many, many times to get sucked in to that whole Mac business, but I seriously doubt it's for me. After all, I am neither hip nor much of a computer/graphics person. I'm happy with my little (almost) 4-year-old classic iPod prompting me to check out that sub-culture every now and then.
For now.
Unless someone really convinces me.
Or takes me on a shopping spree. Whatever comes first.
So today, I made my first iTunes purchase. I sat for about a couple hours shopping for music, looking for stuff that I'd really spend money on. I ended up buying a bunch of Alejandro Sanz music and some jazz, totally worth it, but it wasn't as fun an experience as I thought it would be. I don't think I'll do it again for another few weeks. Or months.
Anyhoors, here's a nice little website to discover and re-discover music. Click here.
And here's a photo of the earbuds accessories that my friend Bon-Bon got me when she came back from London a few weeks ago. Very sweet and thoughtful of her. I love when friends do these little things; makes me feel like.. well.. a Macbook. Pro.

Listening to: Jack Johnson's In Between Dreams
P.S.
Yes, we're back! :)
P.P.S.

although we have gaming in common, i find a ridiculous amount of satisfaction from buying things from itunes directly onto my phone...
ReplyDeleteis it just me or did everyone stop blogging during may?
It's tough to pay for music when I know I can get it for free elsewhere (albeit not entirely legally). But paying for music makes you actually THINK about the music you listen to and possibly 'refine' your tastes (for lack of a better word). You know what I mean?
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, it seems like everyone disappeared in May! Hmm. I wonder what it was. Maybe there's a secret bloggers convention that they flocked and GASP I wasn't invited.
Welcome back! XD
ohhh ... you brought back a lot of memories when I was thinking about the Mac world like you did. But when I went in that magical world, I said to myself 'My God, I've waisted many years of my life on Windows!' ...
ReplyDeleteTake the step without much of a thinking ... you won't regret it :)

Another option you want might to consider is the subscription model. Microsoft's (yes I know, not as cool as apple..) zune marketplace has a thing where you can pay a monthly fee (about 50 riyals) and you can basically download as many songs as you like. It's perfectly legal and you have access to almost their entire library. If you like listening to varied music, this might be a good idea. I like it because of the variety it affords me. If I like a single song by an artist, I can download every album they've ever made and discover.
ReplyDeleteThe downside is that you're not buying the songs, you're renting them. As soon as you stop paying the subscription fee, the songs expire.
Saad:
ReplyDeleteHaha I think you will have to work harder at convincing me. Why do you say it's so much better than Windows? I mean, like I said, I'm not much into computers and graphics. All I use my laptop for is the internet and my files. You know what I mean? It's still MUCH prettier, in my opinion, and I will gladly give it that.

ReplyDeleteI'm open to trying other stuff, and yes, I tried Zune a couple months back. I don't know, I'm not crazy about their system. I mean, for someone who has always gotten music "for free", it's not all that inviting, is it?
I do like discovering new music, though. I'm not saying I don't like mainstream music, because I do (as we know). And iTunes doesn't seem to be the place for that. Or maybe I still haven't properly explored it.
And as for Apple being "cooler", I would say it's just much prettier. At least for me.
And I'm not saying I don't wanna be a hipster, because apparently, I do. :S
ill have an entire blog post related to the music topic u are discussing, and trust me you wont be disappointed.
ReplyDeleteas for mac, believe it or not, people in the US believe that Mac is for people who dont understand jack about computers, mainly because, the operating system of mac is pretty much very straight forward, and i know u are very picky and you wont buy anything unless it has your infamous label "idiot proof" and i guarantee you that mac has it.
how would i know? i was the prophet for 5 people to make them convert to Macism after they were wasted microsoftists and so far none of them complained at all.
oh i almost forgot, thanks for the honorable mention! i havent forgotten to comment on the TJP blog, ill do it in the coming two days.
yours
Micks with the kicks.
apple never dissapoint me...
ReplyDeletei'm a newbie of apple stuff and i love it...
but so expensive..
ReplyDeleteYo Mickey, if that's the case, why should I pay more? Come on, man, CONVINCE ME. XD
ReplyDeleteThe ear buds and just sooooooo cute!!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting kinda addicted to Apple, although I haven't got a MacBook yet or any Apple computer yet.. but I'm into the IPhone, Ipod and hopefully the IPad very soon!
I know what you mean! I'm thinking of getting an iPhone myself. But no, not just yet. :)
ReplyDeleteive been thinking for two days on how i can convince you,but i dont think i can manage all what i need to say into a post.
ReplyDeleteLet me guess, so you're gonna convince me in person instead? Twist my arm and beat me with a baseball bat? Haha BRING IT ON. (I grew up with boys, that's nothing new to me.) :P
ReplyDeleteI'm due for a new laptop, and my choices are:
1) Macbook
2) 10" white Sony Vaio, just like the one I have but the cute little baby one. Awww. <3
So, Fif, what's it gonna be.
