I kept these chocolates on the nightstand for a few days to practice self-restraint. Result? BRB, eating chocolates.

I am training hard on the off-chance that I get to run a marathon. All the cool kids are doing it. All I need to succeed is new gear, right? Week 4 FTW!

Ever since I finished reading, and then watching, Dune , I can't stop connecting everything I see or hear to it. Like this hallway at work. It makes me think of the Atreides house that was taken over by the Harkonnens. Even though it didn't look anything like this.  It doesn't help that Dune is very Arab.

#341 ~ Tactics

Our last BSG game warrants an original episode all on its own. I failed miserably as a cylon, but I suppose that's pretty canon. There is always that miracle of humans' morale, even at its lowest, to overcome. Here are bullet points. I hate being dealt a "YOU ARE A CYLON" card. I hate seeing Leoben's face declaring this.  I get super distracted during a game because I'm always planning my actions for our NEXT board game. Does that make sense? The amount of cussing and smack talk that occurs at any one game. Highly entertaining. I don't understand how other people can play a civil (read: boring) game. Chit-chat during the game is not limited to BSG references. I promise.  Organizational tactics. As shown below. Even when it's not even that cold. -- Ladies and gentlemen,...

#339 ~ Book 30

I got my very first Neal Stephenson from Dee when she went to the UK last month.  It's been a good reading year for me. In 2010, I only managed to read 2 books. It's funny that I started this reading challenge because I wanted to get myself a Kindle, and now that I'm at the end of it, I don't think I want or need one as much anymore. There's still a lot of the books I've hoarded these past few years that need reading, and I can't wait to get to them. Things I've gotten from this reading challenge: * I'm more sci-fi than fantasy. * I've outgrown my Harry Potter obsession. * My books get beaten up after I'm done with them: annotations, dog-ears, post-it notes, drawings, etc. I should probably not borrow books from other people. * I read an average of 60 p...

#338 ~ Cheat November

I suppose there is no more fitting way to put my Cheat Month to a close than to face-stuff with cake the optimum way: Eat both strawberry cheesecake and chocolate cake AT THE SAME TIME. All that yucky mushy goodness. Not for the faint of heart.
