#182 ~ Spa Lounge, Not Salon

Spa Lounge in Jeddah (Kayal Street, I think? You won't miss it, it's huge and fancy) is not bad at all. I've heard good things about their massage and spa services, and their hair treatments. Hands-and-feet care is not bad, but they use crappy nail polish that peels off in less than 24 hours. I had my hair done there, too, and the lady didn't do a very bad job, really, it was pretty good.

BUT.

It took her about 45 minutes to do a fairly simple blow-dry (salons can do it in 20 or less). She was a nice lady, but painfully slow. It didn't help that even though I had booked an appointment for 7pm, I didn't get seen to until 7:45pm. I said to myself, I says "they're not a salon, after all, so I should cut them some slack."

Because that's what I do when people don't treat me right: I make excuses for them and take the blame. (Yes, bastards, we are taking applications right this moment.)

The place is only a few months old, so it's looking really nice and relaxing. You should try it if you're in Jeddah. Bring your father's credit card.

Highlight of this evening: bumping into the lovely Malak, who is also smart and funny (it's quite unbelievable, really) and laughing over both our propensities towards failing at being failures (at this point, your mind will have been blown) and related matters.

I sure wish I had taken a photo of her sandwich winning an epic power struggle, instead of my foot above.
