Friday. 13.
I didn't even notice it was the 13th. A Friday.
When I was 7 years old, my brother W would scare us on Friday the 13th by saying that the television comes to life in the middle of the night, and eats anyone who was awake. It was true, he said, he lost several of his classmates to a television.
I believed him. And if I think about it now, Friday the 13th occured at least 15 times the year I was 7.

For the past 10 years, my cousin TN took me shopping every once in a while. By shopping, I mean no-holds-barred, take-whatever-you-want-however-much-it-costs-I'll-pay-for-it shopping. The last time she did this was about a year and a half ago, when she gave me a mobile phone.
I took her out for dinner tonight. I wish I could take her out for shopping like she used to do for me, but I can't.
Friday 13. I missed it too. And I'm glad you survived all of them so far.
ReplyDeleteJavanese calendars don't mark superstitions with the number 13. But they acknoledge the strength of Fridays, and mark superstitions with Kliwon; something that occurs ever 5 days. I sense demons better on Kliwon days; when the partition between their world and ours thin on Kliwon days.
Even thinner still on Kliwon Fridays.
Would you like to know when the next Kliwon Friday is going to be?
